2019 Summer Festival

Broadstone Music Series are excited to announce our first summer festival. Featuring some of our favourite artists from the last 10 years of the Broadstone Music Series!

  • 5th July: Moonlight Swing Band,

    Led by Kevin Morgan (BSO
    principal Trombone).

  • 6th July: ‘Come and Play from Scratch’. Broadstone
    United Reformed Church Hall, 3pm.
    Participation day amateur orchestra. Directed by
    distinguished local musicians. From grade 3+,
    learn arrangements of classics & musicals.

  • 7th July: Dorchester Piano Quartet.
    Lytchett Minster. 3pm.
    Strauss recital, talk & cream tea.

  • 8th July: Capriccioso String Quartet. St John’s Church, 7:30pm.
    Italian themed music & wine.

  • 9th July: Folk Delights & Dinner. The Cargo Lounge, Dunyeats Rd, 7pm.
    Tuneful Tales with Tim Laycock & Alastair Simpson. Poetry by Thomas Hardy & William Barnes.

    Tunes from the Hollywood Golden Age. For seniors, with Jennifer Curiel & Kevin Pritchard.

  • 11th July: Stars from the Royal Colleges of Music. Broadstone Methodist Church. 7.30pm
    Recital by some of the brightest stars from the Royal Colleges of Music.

  • 12th July: Ceilidh. St Michael’s Church, Colehill
    A Dorset Ceilidh with Dorset’s amazing Tatterdemalion band and Ruther Thompson

  • 13th July: COME & SING. St John’s Church, 10am.
    Participation event for final festival concert.
    Day of choral music, Handel & more. Directed by John Watkins with supporting tutors. Tickets £15, advance booking essential
  • 14th July: Finale — Celebration of English Music. St Johns Church,
    Camerata Musicale perform Elgar Serenade for Strings, Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music, & more. Cream tea in interval.
