Due to Covid 19, we sadly had to cancel or postpone recitals after our March 1st Coffee concert. However, we worked hard on providing a safe outdoor 3 day summer school for 48 young musicians at Yarrells school with a selection of superb tutors in July, followed by a popup socially distanced outdoor series of recitals during August and September.

They included an interesting array of professional recitals and some were joined by young musicians, bringing much enjoyment to lovers of classical music in our community this year. Through these recitals, we also raised a good sum of money for BSO Benevolent Fund, and Gully’s Place in Poole hospital.

Basically Bach Project: To mark our 10th season, we are presenting an ambitious project, “Basically Bach”, involving a complete cycle of the six Brandenburg Concerti of JS Bach. Applications for the 3rd phase are still open please APPLY TO TAKE PART HERE.
There is a FREE CONCERT ADMISSION, with retiring collection towards future music projects with young musicians following each phase. Below are the project concert dates for your diaries at St John’s Church, Macaulay Road, Broadstone, BH18 8AR:

Sunday 6th October 2019, 5 – 6pm – Brandenburg concerti no 1 & 3 with Schubert 5th symphony movement 1

Sunday 9th February 2020, 5 – 6pm – Brandenburg concerti no 2 & 5 with Bach suite no 2

Sunday 3rd May, 5 – 6pm 2020, – Brandenburg concerti no 4 & 6 with CPE Bach concerto for Harpsichord
