Camerata String Chamber Music Club, 2022

Following the success of the Poole Society of Young Musicians Autumn music education events, we are delighted to be able to offer Camerata String Chamber Music Club project this term.

This club will take place over 4 dates this term: 29th Jan, 5th, 12th Feb and 5th March, taking place at Yarrells School, Upton, Poole, Dorset.

Ensembles will take place either between 1.30pm – 3.45pm or 1.45 – 4.30pm, with a short informal showcase of progress so far at the end of the sesson on 5th March.

Fee: £40 inclusive.

There is no reduction for a reduced number of attendances as tutors are booked and paid for all the weeks that the club is running. Music will be scanned and sent for printing and preparation.  Bring a music stand, a pencil and a drink.

Tutored by distinguished professional tutors including invited BSO musicians.

The Royal Academy of Music award-winning Salwa String quartet will be performing in our Broadstone Music Series this year, and participants from these chamber music workshops will be invited to take a masterclass with them prior to their performance. We are waiting for further information as to when this might be, but likely late in the Spring or early summer and this will be an exciting opportunity for our young musicians. We have collaborated with Jon Thorne at RAM a number of times now and we are grateful to him for his support in facilitating these great opportunities.
The groups from our chamber music club will also be invited to perform in our popular summer coffee and cake concert, date TBC.

For strings ONLY. Applications should be from young people aged 10+ to 18 years of age; minimum Grade 5. Please fill out one form for each person wishing to take part.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 23rd January 2022 – apologies for last minute information; planning is very difficult at this time due to possible Covid -19 implications.

Please note that once you have received confirmation from Alison Kay of acceptance payment becomes due immediately and definitely by the 27th January. In the event that all sessions do not take place, a full refund will be issued to those who have already paid. However, it is not possible to give refunds for individual sessions as tutors will have been booked.
Details for payment will be received on application but it is to the normal “Poole Society for Young Musicians” charity account.

*****Please kindly note that we will be continuing with our covid risk assessment, ao social distancing will be in place at these sessions alongside negative lateral flow tests and masks when moving around. Musicians can remove masks when seated.*****

We are grateful for the support of our Hub Partners SoundStorm:
