Enter the gateway to the music of the Baroque period. A fantastic opportunity to learn the most famous Baroque repertoire. This project is organised by Alison Kay and led on the day by one of the country’s pre-eminent string specialists and violinist Fiona McLean Beuchel, Head of Strings at Junior Trinity Laban. Supported by other invited professional musicians and tutors. SoundStorm Music Agency are supporting this event.
A year of workshop immersion into the complete Bach Brandenburg cycle; Cantatas of the time; and other works which have compositional parallels or similar instrumentation.
Each workshop session will feature two Brandenburg Concerti plus one other work which ties in with the instrumentation enabling each ensemble to combine together. Participants will have the opportunity to deliver seminars on repertoire; a useful practise tool for University interviews. You can sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 of the projects.
Spaces are limited for this project, so early application is highly recommended. Deadline for applications for each phase are given below.
Each phase will consist of two workshops and a performance of the works in a public concert performance at St John’s Church Broadstone.
