If you are interested in trying out an unusual instrument, then here is your chance! Come along to the Dorset Double Reed Day on Sunday 5th February, 10-4:30 at the Kinson Community Centre.

You will have a chance to hear these wonderful instruments in action in a concert given by the tutors. All four tutors are members of the world-famous Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Jean Broadbent, the Double Reed specialist from John Packer Ltd will be on hand all day with oboes and bassoons for you to try. You are welcome to drop in and listen to the masterclasses and workshops that will be going on too.

image001We recommend that children starting the oboe should be year 3 and up, and children starting the bassoon should be year 5 and up. We can provide information on finding a teacher, hiring or purchasing an instrument and sources of funding available.

Entry is £5 for under 18s, an accompanying adult can go free. Payment can be made on the day, but please register your interest to attend here just to give us a rough idea of numbers!
