We are delighted that the Asaka Asset awarding winning chamber musicians from the Royal Academy of Music are visiting to perform for us here in Broadstone!
The Asaka Quartet is a prizewinning string quartet formed in 2021 at the Royal Academy of Music in London where they are currently Chamber Music Fellows for 2022/23. Their diverse backgrounds from China, Hong Kong and Scotland, the Asaka’s each bring with them their own identities. They pride themselves on communicating their enjoyment of making music together and sharing this with their audiences, with a keen interest in music by underrepresented composers. We are really lucky to be able to welcome them to Broadstone. You can read more about and listen to them HERE
We are excited to present our first programme of music this spring, celebrating some beautiful repertoire by distinguished female composers as well as a continuation of our Beethoven String quartet cycle.

After an open masterclass for a few of our string chamber musicians which audience are welcome to listen to at 2-3pm, these highly skilled professional chamber musicians will present a formal recital.

Enjoy a mid-spring evening of glorious music performed by these inspiring world-class musicians, in a programme of romantic repertoire, some chosen as it reflects the joy of Spring, and by some of our favourite composers. Songs, viola and piano solos by Vaughan Williams, Brahms, Debussy, Schumann, while we celebrate the 150th year since the birth of Rachmaninov with his songs performed by international soprano Samantha Crawford, we are thrilled to welcome back to Broadstone our alumni pianist and professional accompanist Helen Nicholas and one of our familiar and wonderful musicians (BSO principal viola), Tom Beer who has remained a regular chamber music performer with us. Do join us for this joyous evening!

We’re really excited to present our first Family concert which we hope will be one of many, to inspire the next generation of children in their love of music! This concert will have a brass theme!
Guest professional musician Kevin Morgan (BSO principal trombone) and colleagues present this family interactive concert. Talented, fun and experienced educator Kevin will lead his professional brass ensemble in a fun hour of musical fun to inspire the joy of creativity, imagination and music performance ..there will be music to enjoy hearing and also participate in.
They’ll be joined by guest young talented young musicians (our Jurassic Brass ensemble) from our Poole Society for Young Musicians Charity to inspire the children even further ….
Be ready to participate if you like!
Teddy bear friends are VERY welcome at this concert!
Aimed mainly at key stage 1- 2 but the programme can be enjoyed by the whole family!
