Nathaniel Brawn

Nathaniel read music at the University of Surrey (Conducting – Russell Keable, Piano – Dr Maureen Galea). He conducted the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras as well as the University Chamber Choir. He was twice winner of the Croser-Hughes Chamber Music Prize (Piano) and holder of The HR Taylor Trust Scholarship (Viola).
He has worked as a Consort Leader, and accompanist for the Eton Choral Courses under Ralph Allwood MBE. Various freelance orchestral work has led him to performances with Russell Watson and Alison Balsom as well as chamber music for BBC’s Songs of Praise. Nathaniel was Director of Music with the Highcliffe Junior Choir from 2011-2014 with whom he recorded an album of James Hook’s music alongside David Owen Norris.


Currently Director of Music at Wetherby Preparatory School, Marylebone. He balances his time between running three choirs, and organising several high profile concerts throughout the year as well as classroom teaching and private instrumental tutoring. Nathaniel performs regularly with the Kantanti Ensemble, Kensington Symphony Orchestra and Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra and is currently the official accompanist for the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama.
