Working as a freelance cellist, Jay regularly performs in and around London. Since graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2011, performances have taken him to the Southbank Centre, Kings Place, Cadogan Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. At Buckingham Palace, Jay performed in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
Although principally trained in classical music, Jay’s versatility as a performer coupled with his affinity for popular music genres has created a demand for studio sessions and live shows. Jay has played in some of the coolest venues in London including The Jazz Cafe, and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. He has also appeared on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 and local radio, as well as appearing in music videos amassing thousands, and even millions of views.
Additionally Jay works as an educator, working in schools as well as privately. Jay is also working on an online project with educational content to supplement his current teaching commitments, as well as reaching out to a new generation of budding cellists.
