Have tremendous fun, learning in tailor made chamber and larger ensembles with tutoring from distinguished professional musicians with additional supporting music classes to build musicianship, aural, rhythm skills and build confidence!

Work in sectionals and perform alongside professional orchestral musicians!

MEZZO MAESTROS over 8 weeks: with the popular and inspiring professional musician/director, Polly Phillips: Begins 5.30-6.30pm on Monday 16th January 2023 over 8 weeks excluding half term, with concert. This term will include a specialised sectional rehearsal. For GRADE 2-5 orchestral musicians including percussion, aged up to 14

JURASSIC BRASS over 8 weeks : with BSO Brass principals Robb Tooley & Kevin Morgan:
Begins 5.30 – 6.30pm on Tuesday 16th January 2023 over 8 weeks excl half term with concerts. Full of inspiring technical and repertoire work with some of the most inspiring brass teachers in the profession!For Grade 5+ Brass players, aged up to 18.

Launch of:
MINI MAESTROS MUSIC ACADEMY: Monday and Tuesday evenings from 16th January 2023.
Start the learning process in playing an instrument (Piano, violin, clarinet, cello, bass, oboe, flute, trumpet, trombone) with a top professional teacher/ performer, plus gain general musicianship development in a fun group with an inspiring teacher, joined on to the lesson. if you are interested but need more information, please contact us on poolesym@gmail.com and ENROL HERE or see MINI MAESTROS MUSIC ACADEMY page.
In addition to this, the locally well known Music educator Cathy Murray is taking a term of MUSICIANSHIP CLASS on a Monday 5.30-6.30pm. This is aimed at all young musicians to develop musicianship skills through improving sense of pulse and aural. This is specifically aimed at supporting children on their musical journeys and helps prepare for exam aural tests and music theory.

BROADSTONE YOUTH CAMERATA CHAMBER MUSIC for grade 5+ STRINGS:
4 COACHING DATES over the term with a CONCERT. Some young musicians will be selected to work again with the Royal Academy of Music “Asset” Award String Quartet later in the term.
One of our aims is to help some students with preparation for school exam ensembles as well as learning the joys of chamber repertoire. We have become well known during the years for our chamber music provision and many of our students develop a passion for this idiom as well as some work to Conservatoire levels with direction from our world-class teachers.

SOUNDSTORM SINFONIA: We are working closely with hub partners SoundStorm and due to the popularity of our autumn course, BSO Musician Kevin Smith is back, directing another short course, with fun repertoire and supporting the National Curriculum. Sectionals will again be taken by invited inspiring professional musicians. This course is open to young percussionists too so do put yourselves forward as there’s lots of fun in this programme with tutor to help!

BRASS DAY: in London: Saturday 1st April 2023 with highly specialised and inspiring teachers.
We thank our good friend Neil Thomas, the inspiring brass player and teacher at Richmond Music Trust who helped to run our own fabulous Brass day 4 years ago. This will be for any level of brass learning and we hope to attract a varied group of young brass players to benefit from this day. Cost for this day will be as low as possible as it will just be for travel. Richmond Music Trust will be paying for the coaching and catering for us!

Working closely alongside our hub partners SoundStorm, we were delighted to launch the beginning of an evening Musical Centre based mainly at Parkstone Grammar School to create new opportunity options for local young musicians. Learning and playing together is well known to inspire and speed up progress in a musician’s learning. We always keep our fees as low as we can in our charity and are grateful for all the help and support we get from local private sponsors including Richard Bagley, Wessex Young Musicians Trust and our Hub Partner Soundstorm Music Agency who guide and support most of our Education work in some way.
Venues: Parkstone Grammar School, Sopers Lane Poole, also Yarrells School Upton, Castle Court School, Poole Grammar School and local Broadstone Churches
In addition to current activities, ASAP we will be offering ABRSM Grade 5 prep Music Theory group tuition with local qualified teachers once we have enough children to make a class!
